These criteria include aspects related to the feeding of ducks, breeding methods, the processing of foie gras, and other important aspects to ensure its quality and authenticity.

Tips for Savoring an Unforgettable Meal

  • "Keep one or two extra foie gras in the refrigerator because it is almost certain that your guests will greatly appreciate it and will then ask you if it is possible ... 'to enjoy a few extra little toasts.'"
  • The traditional way: Cut slices and place them on toast or your favorite bread, accompany it with chutney, onion jam, or nuts or fresh fruits that enhance the flavor of foie gras.

Quantities of foie gras to plan per person

  • As a starter, for a foie gras served on a plate: plan for 50 to 80 g per person.
  • As an appetizer or amuse-bouche: count 20 to 50 g per person.

Conservation

  • The expiration date of the product is written on the back of the glass jar or the can. This product can be stored for several years in a cool, dry place (between 10 and 15°C). Once opened, the foie gras can be kept for several days in the refrigerator. If it is canned, it should be placed on a plate covered with plastic wrap. For foie gras presented in a glass jar, simply close it and store it in the refrigerator.
