Foie gras is a very popular dish in France, probably one of the finest and most delicate tastes that one can experience.
It is a dish that is enjoyed during gastronomic events and special occasions such as birthdays, Mother's or Father's Day, Christmas, etc. It is also perfect as a gift or as a dinner to share with your distinguished guests.
Preparation of IGP foie gras with a creamy texture
The IGP (Protected Geographical Indication) is an official certification of origin and quality, which guarantees that the blocks of foie gras come from ducks raised in freedom in the countryside of the South-West of France and are fed on corn from the farm. This preparation is also distinguished by its creamy texture, characteristic of a product worked with care and respect for traditions.
The many tourists who visit the farms of the South-West of France can see that the birds are raised in large open spaces. Visitors, who can then give their own opinion, are rarely shocked and most of them buy foie gras.
Flavor
This foie gras is creamy and delicious, offering a wealth of authentic aromas and an appetizing texture.
Tasting advice
Foie gras in general appreciates being spiced and enhanced with spices. You can therefore enjoy these blocks of duck foie gras simply on bread or in a salad, or season with a little salt and pepper.
If you prefer it plain, don't hesitate to add a sweet flavor like onion confit or fig chutney: it's a quick and easy way to enjoy foie gras. In the South-West, the local tradition is to spread a block of foie gras on a cereal, nut or fig bread and enjoy it with a glass of good wine. Sauternes is a favorite accompaniment!
Whenever you feel like going crazy, pair your foie gras with pieces of black truffle, their earthy flavor gives a unique touch to foie gras.
